Wendy Carlos studies the original TRON score, 1982 |
Tom pays huge homage to electronic music pioneer and original TRON soundtrack composer Wendy Carlos.
Studying and working at Columbia University in 1962, Carlos oversaw the development of the Moog synthesizer alongside Robert Moog, quite literally inventing the future of sound.
Tom says on his bandcamp, "When I first saw the film Tron, I was completely mesmerised! It was as if watching the film had switched on a new part to my brain. The colours, the sounds, the landscapes; it all meshed together perfectly. Everything seemed possible in this computer based world."
Soaring flawlessly between smooth crystal clear highs and crunching dark lows, the entirely self-released Occams Laser discography leaves your jaw dangling at the sheer range of this man's talent and unwavering commitment to produce at the highest quality.
